Tyson Herald, West Bridge Church
Posted on Dec 7, 2011 in: Honorary Fishhooker of the Every Other Month
For the December Fishhooker of the Every Other Month award, Fishhook has selected Tyson Herald, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries at West Bridge Church.
1. What has Tyson's connection/relationship been with Fishhook
Tyson led a significant communication project for his church - a complete rebranding with the added gigantic task of a name change.
2. Which of Fishhook's Core Values does Tyson most reflect?
Extreme Communication Makeovers - but in his case, it might be "Extreme Church Makeovers" as he and other leaders have brought their congregation through a significant season of change - bringing fresh approaches to many aspects of their ministry. Tyson led the project with clarity and excellence … and good humor.
3. If you were describing Tyson to someone who has never met him, what would you say?
Super sharp. Mega-strategic. Business background applied to the church. Warm. Humble. Easy to be around.
4. What has Tyson's impact been on the Church at large?
Tyson has a huge heart for ministry and for making an impact in his community, the greater Indianapolis area and around the world.
While Tyson's role at West Bridge is much broader than communications, he has jumped into a reinvent process with Fishhook and a core group of church communication directors to bring a fresh approach to the Communication Directors Roundtable. We see he has a huge collaborative ministry heart and know great things will come from this effort.
5. If someone had 1/2 hour to spend with Tyson, what would you recommend they pick his brain about?
Ask him how he transitioned from a family business to church leadership - and how he maintains his fresh edge and warm attitude.
