It's Pastor Appreciation Month! So, we've created a list of the only gifts we feel could truly show sufficient appreciation for our pastor's hard work and dedication to their congregations!

We've heard a rumor that October is Pastor Appreciation Month! For those of you who are pastors, we're sure you've been receiving cards, gift cards, your favorite candy or coffee and a number of other tokens of appreciation from your congregation and staff. But, since we here at Fishhook have the distinct privilege of seeing your work from the inside, we feel that, though these gifts are most definitely kind and generous, they don't quite hit the mark.

So, we've made a list of the only gifts we feel could truly show sufficient appreciation for your hard work and dedication to your congregation:

  1. A big ol' pile of money
  2. A trip to Cancun
  3. Free Starbucks for life
  4. Superhuman powers: like stopping time and selective hearing
  5. A secret room behind your bookshelf
  6. A robot that will answer all your emails (And, also, just a robot in general because that would be pretty cool.)
  7. The Cone of Silence
  8. Guaranteed laughs for all of your sermon jokes (without having to hold up an applause sign)
  9. A referee to handle all disputes, red flags and complaining from the sidelines
  10. A Candy Topiary (Okay, so this is actually something someone could give you ... but let's be real ... nothing says thanks for teaching us about Jesus like a candy topiary.)

We hope these made you laugh! But, in all seriousness, we know being a leader is hard work and the problems and issues that can arise are no joke. Join us on October 28 for our last FREE webinar of 2015, Dirty Jobs: When Leadership Gets Messy, as our founder and leader, Evan McBroom, lays out the good, the bad and the ugly of shepherding Fishhook through a major season of change. He'll tell his story of growth and share tips on how the things he learned can be used in a church setting.
