Join us for The Table on October 25, 2017, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church for a time to refresh.

Have you ever been in a ministry season when you wish you had a little more? More energy? More ideas? More motivation? Or perhaps you’re doing okay but you know your team could use a recharge.

When you notice your car is running low on gas, you plan for how and when it will get refueled. When your refrigerator is empty, you make a list of what you need. But when it comes to serving in ministry or in our personal lives, we sometimes miss those “low tank” warning signs – or worse, we just ignore them.

You might think, “I can push through. I have to keep going. There are so many plates spinning. People are counting on me. I can’t let them down. I can’t rest right now because of _______.”

In 2016, we surveyed a group of church communications professionals about their biggest challenges and found that the need for refreshment was a common theme. We received comments like:

  • I need time for personal reflection and encouragement.
  • I wish I had more time to focus on being creative.
  • My struggle is balancing the ever-growing workload with peace, rest, refreshment... breathing.
  • Our team needs some dream time.

At the October Table, hosted by St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, our theme is Refresh. To help you make progress in this area, Lindsay Dudeck from the Fishhook team will be sharing life hacks to help recharge you and your team … and possibly even change your life.

She’ll talk about the personal journey she has been on for the past year to incorporate rest and refreshment into her own life in intentional ways, while still keeping up with her job, family, friends, church, etc.

You’ll leave with specific tips on how to:

Refresh as an individual
Making space to breathe and reflect

Refresh as a team
Gaining perspective and fueling creativity

Refresh your vision
Defining your next steps for 2018

Bring a lunch and bring your team! This will be our last time to connect as a group before we head into a new year.
