Happy 14th anniversary, Fishhook! A thank you letter from me to you.

WOW! It's hard to believe we are celebrating our 14th anniversary this month! Here's a little video about our journey so far.

I've only been part of this team for three and a half years, but it feels like I've been here forever. And, I mean that in a good way! I believe sometimes Fishhook is painted as the perfect work place. But, we have hard days. We make difficult decisions. We continually learn about each other and adapt the way we interact with one another. We are not perfect people and this is not a perfect workplace. And, most days, I can't comprehend why God chose me for this place.

In January, I returned to work full time after having my son. People kept asking me, "Are you sad to go back?" or "How are you doing?" It was almost like they felt sorry for me. But, what they didn't understand is, that this isn't just a paycheck to me. Fishhook is part of who I am.

My first day back wasn't easy, because naturally, I missed those sweet baby snuggles! But, after being back for just an hour, I texted my husband and told him that I felt like a part of my soul had come back to life. Maybe that sounds dramatic to you, but it's truly how I felt about this place, these people and the work we get to do together.

And so, I want to say thank you. Thank you to our founder, Evan, for listening to God's call 14 years ago. Thank you to Leah and Shayla for leading us so fearlessly. Thank you to my teammates for working so hard to help churches tell their stories and reach people for Christ. But most of all, thank you. We are incredibly grateful and humbled that you continually call on us, trust us, and allow us to walk along side you.

Here's to many more anniversaries and even more things to be thankful for!
