Ten years ago I had a job I loved, working with people I loved, on a career path that I was excited about. I was also a new mom. Addy – our older daughter – was just a few months old and my heart made a 180-degree turn. God was calling me to something new. To take a step of faith. At home. With Addy. And while it was a hard decision (one that still stirs much emotion in me today), it was a decision I knew I had to make. I had no idea what was in store.
It’s crazy to me that Evan McBroom was starting Fishhook at this exact same time. I didn’t know it, but God was calling me to Fishhook. That, however, wouldn’t be revealed for two more years. First, I had to leave the position mentioned above and welcome our second daughter, Livy, to our family.
Shortly thereafter, with a 2-year-old, 8-week-old and an incredibly supportive husband, I started the journey with Fishhook. In those early days, I think I committed to working a few hours a week. That changed pretty quickly. Thanks, Kingsway Christian Church!
Today? I have a 10-year-old, an 8-year-old and the same great husband. And here’s what I’ve - no, I mean - here's what we've learned these past 10 years.
All are welcome. No RSVP needed.
Hope to see you!
