At Fishhook, we celebrate the many people we are connected with who help us grow and serve our churches and ministries. We know that having an amazing staff and strong relationships with other key partners is vital.
And while we have an incredible full-time team, we’re equally grateful for the extended group of contractors, part-time Fishhookers, and partners who come alongside us to serve churches and ministries so faithfully.
These teammates bring not only excellent skills, but hearts for Jesus and for the Church. Because of them, we’re able to build just the right team for each client ... thoughtfully, intentionally and with excellence.
This time, we’re grateful to honor one of those incredible partners. This month’s award goes to … Alex Pesak!
We first connected with Alex online the past couple of years and had admired her work. With an agency background and a gift for visual design, she stood out.
But what’s even more remarkable than Alex’s talent is who she is.
When you’re with Alex, you feel it ... she’s warm, kind and eager to connect. She asks thoughtful questions and genuinely leans in to listen and learn. She works hard, brings a high level of creativity, thoughtfulness and spark to every project.
In addition, she’s joyful and fun, qualities we highly value on the Fishhook team! Alex is quick to laugh, always up for a coffee or fun lunch, and fully embraces the moments that bring people together.
Case in point: our Valentine’s Day (aka Team-alentines Day) celebration this year was complete with old-school cards and candy. Fishhook leaders had cards and candy to give out to the full team, and Alex showed up with very similar gifts to give out to all of us as well.
Start by asking about her two adorable doodles, Boomer and Marvin Peppers, her family and her friends!
Then, ask her about creativity. And her joyful temperament. And about how these two things seem to fuel each other in her life and work.
Alex is eager, hopeful and scrappy in the best way. She looks for possibilities, a specific value we hold at Fishhook.
And she’s always connecting ... with people, with the larger design community and with new ideas or experiences. Whether she’s taking a class, going on a trip, or creating something away from a screen (like movie posters, ceramics, fun food and more), she’s continually finding inspiration that shows up in her work. That intentional pursuit of growth and creativity is something really special.
With Alex’s blessing, we’re honored to share just a bit of her story. She came to faith in Christ in recent years as a young adult, and there’s a freshness and gratitude in her faith journey that is deeply impactful. It shows up in how she serves, how she connects, and how she approaches her work with churches and ministries.
There’s a warmth, humility and authenticity in Alex that reflects the heart of Jesus, and it’s a gift to the people and organizations she partners with.
Alex, we’re thankful for you. Thank you for being a wonderful friend, a trusted partner and a talented visual designer.
