Edge Community Church in Suisun City, California. He's an innovator, risk taker and community builder.
This guy is not just doing church ... he’s creating community in ways that should make all of us take note.

Why Michael?
Edge Community Church may be small in size, but it’s a ministry with a huge mission. Under Michael’s leadership, this church is:
- Pastoring a thriving, authentic community in Solano County.
- Running the Solano Dream Center, a homeless shelter with the mission and purpose of helping every individual live out their life purpose and dreams as they engage in or assist in breaking the homeless cycle.
- Operating Common Ground Coffeehouse & Cafe, an actual coffee shop that serves as a bridge to their community.
- Leveraging innovative tech (like Rock RMS) in creative ways to connect with more people.
Michael’s posture of “we’ll figure it out” has become a masterclass in scrappy, Spirit-led leadership.
When we first met Michael, we were drawn in by his clear passion to help people meet Jesus. Not just in a church building but at a coffee table, in a shelter or through a website that points people to hope.
We’ve had the honor of coming alongside Edge Community to help them think even more strategically about their digital tools. Michael dove head first into Rock RMS several years ago on his own and championed the importance of a digital front door that actually serves people. That kind of leadership? We’re here for it!
Which of Fishhook's core values does Michael most reflect?
At Fishhook, one of our favorite values is Ta-Da! It’s the exclamation point of our work. It’s about celebrating remarkable improvement and leaning into those moments.
Michael Wurz lives out Ta-Da! every day. From launching a coffeehouse that invites neighbors into deeper connection, to building a shelter that restores dignity and hope, Michael doesn’t just lead, he brings vision to life in tangible ways. He turns big ideas into reality and always finds a way to level-up ministry with creativity and boldness.
Michael’s leadership is a reminder that remarkable things can happen when faith, creativity and scrappiness collide.
