The name of your church can be one of two things - an invitation or a roadblock. Of course we all prefer the first. But the thought of re-examining a church name or making a change can be daunting. Understandably so. Church names often carry loads of history, personal ties and emotion with them.
It can be hard when you're “in the trenches” to see what’s happening above ground. Your church name might feel just fine to you. Quite comfortable actually, like your favorite sweatshirt. But here’s the thing - it’s not for you. It’s primarily for the folks who don’t know you ... yet.
