On the last day of her internship, Lydia sent us this blog post to say thank you. Reading it leaves us feeling completely humble and full of gratitude.

For the past four months we had the pleasure of having an intern work with us. If you had a chance to meet Lydia, you know that she is a genuine, kind, giving person with a huge heart. On her last day, Lydia sent us this blog post to say thank you. Reading it leaves us feeling completely humble and full of gratitude. Lydia, thank you for these kind words and for all your hard work. We KNOW you are going to do great things and can't wait to see where God takes you next!

A letter from Lydia:

It’s been a blessing.

After college I was in a complete fog of where my first steps in life after graduation would take me. Struggling to find a path, I stumbled upon Fishhook through a mutual connection. Allowing faith to be my guide, and after an hour-long conversation with Aimee in a Rockville Road Starbucks, I became the Marketing and Content Development intern with Fishhook. Since then, I have spent almost 4 months here learning, writing, growing, writing, laughing, and writing some more. Although words are hard to come by in expressing my gratitude, I wanted to write a blog (naturally) saying thank you to the Fishhook team and clients, for all you have done for me.

Here are 3 things that I have learned to love about Fishhook, and things that have made my time here full of thankfulness:

The laughter. Whether I was a part of the conversation or not, the laughter and joyful spirits took any discouraged mood and gave it peace. Even sitting outside of the doorway hearing intense hilarity coming from the other room allowed me to always softly chuckle to myself and think, “well, this is nice.” Fishhook never seemed to forget not to take themselves too seriously, and that tasks can be accomplished even when combined with a little humor.

The humility. From the top to the bottom, from the left to the right, there has been an obvious amount of always giving glory to the One that has blessed this company so much. Seeing reverence always mirroring the Father has been one of the most beautiful examples I could have been given. ”Therefore, as it is written: ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord, ‘” (1 Corinthians 1:31). This verse remains true to the character of Fishhook.

The Mission. The purpose behind everything is paired with something greater than the initial proposal. Each work of art is followed by the pursuit to reach more for Christ and further His kingdom. It has been beautiful to be alongside others that want to fight for and with His Kingdom, and watch His hands expand and move.

I leave here with a joyful heart; one thankful for the season I was able to have at Fishhook, and one excited for what’s next - I know that the best is yet to come, for both all of you and myself. So I bid you a “see you later,” and am hopeful and cheering you on for this next season you are about to waltz into.
