JESUS

FOLLOWING JESUS' EXAMPLE TO LOVE, RESPECT AND TRUST.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Fishhook isn't a church, but we are part of the Church. As people who individually follow Christ, we work as a team to collectively follow Christ. This means we strive to obey His teaching, watch for His direction and model our lives after His.

HOW DO WE SEE IT PLAYING OUT IN OUR WORK?

This really plays out in our relationships (how we treat each other), in our business model (we pray God brings us the work we're to do and the team members who will do it) and in our decision-making process (we want to honor God in the choices we make). It's asking for and believing that God will guide our work - especially our creative efforts - and that the results will be God-breathed.

SKILZ

OUR EXPERTISE THAT CHALLENGES CLIENTS TO CATCH MORE.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

A lot of really awesome marketing and communication exists in our culture today. Retailers, corporations and organizations have created some killer-strong brands that communicate in seriously strategic ways (think Starbucks, Apple, charity:water), and we believe churches and ministries should strive to perform at that level.

HOW DO WE SEE IT PLAYING OUT IN OUR WORK?

Skilz looks like a team of people who could easily work at any high-end marketing agency (and some have). They stay current with culture. They're engaged in the world (but not of it), and they know what great communication looks like and how to help our clients achieve it. Skilz looks like people who show up, continue to grow and collaborate at the deepest levels. It's knowing who to pull into a project to solve a problem or stretch conventional thinking. It's realizing that every client brings their mad skilz to the process, and we'll learn something new from every church if we're open and humble. It's recognizing that our gifts are God-given and can be fully released when we're in tune with the Spirit.

W.O.O.

(WINNING OTHERS OVER) RELATIONSHIPS THAT IGNITE ENERGY AND MOMENTUM.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

The best work happens when people are having fun. We want our clients to know we believe the best in them, from them and for them.

HOW DO WE SEE IT PLAYING OUT IN OUR WORK?

We show up with cookies. We laugh and invite laughter. We love to eat together. All of this adds to the energy in our relationships and in our clients' churches and ministries. That energy creates momentum.

PANTS

SAYING THE TOUGH WORDS THAT NEED TO BE SAID.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Often, our clients hire us to be a prophet, a teacher and a coach. We're a voice in their organization to call out what needs to be called out, to name issues many can feel but can't exactly describe. What church leaders often need is someone to say, with love and grace, what needs to be said. To call out what could be better. To map a path for improvement all the while praying for, cheering with and being a fan of the Church.

HOW DO WE SEE IT PLAYING OUT IN OUR WORK?

We say the hard thing that needs to be said to make things better. We shoot straight with our clients and one another. We respect the authority of leadership and believe hard stuff is worth talking through - with care, compassion and strength.

TA-DA

CREATING AND CELEBRATING REMARKABLE IMPROVEMENT.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

You cultivate what you celebrate. People need to know when they've done a good job. Next month's project will be better because of today's pat on the back. This work, by our Fishhook team, by the church staff and volunteers ... it's a lot of work. "This is my Son in whom I'm well pleased" should echo from our lips at the end of every effort.

HOW DO WE SEE IT PLAYING OUT IN OUR WORK?

We party and we play; and we encourage our clients to do the same. Each organization's celebration will look different. Some will be "TAAAA-DAAAAAAAA!!!!!" Others might be a simple "ta-da." We help our clients make plans and follow through with the celebrations that keep people motivated.
