Welcome to Church Comm 101! This is a free 5-session training course meant to help you build strong foundations for your church communications. The goal here is not for you to become a perfect communicator. The goal is to help you use communications as a bridge from who your church is to who you're trying to reach.

Ready? Here are your sessions!

Session 1: Mission, Vision & Values

Share Your Story: What is your church’s purpose in this unique season of ministry? What are you rallying around? Explore how your everyday messaging can be strategic and move your mission forward.

Session 2: Reach Your Audience

Help Messages Connect: Know WHO you are engaging with before you decide HOW to engage with them. Who are the people you are in an ideal position to reach right now? How can you foster connections with your community and congregation? Here is what you need to know about your audience.

Session 3: Center-Stage Messaging

Choose Strategic Priorities: If you could communicate just one message this weekend, what would it be? To be effective, all organizations have to make strategic communications choices. How should you determine your priorities on any given day? How can you help messages connect with their intended audience? Let's prioritize messaging and reach the right people.

Session 4: Social Media

Keep Building Bridges: Your church’s online presence should support your overall mission and help you reach more people. How can you add interest and tell stories online? Which tools can best help you conduct ministry, provide teaching, and encourage others? What stats can best help you learn about the impact you’re making? Let's talk all things social media!

Session 5: Guest Connections

Engage Onsite and Online: Many churches invest considerable thought and resources into inviting and reaching guests. So, once guests connect with your congregation in-person or online, what is their experience like? If you could, what would you see through the eyes of your newcomers? Here are some clear steps you can take to create an inviting atmosphere of hospitality and connection.
