Shawn's thoughts on:
"Little Guys Can Do Big Things Too" by Kevin D. Hendricks.

Kevin writes about something many of us know all too well, the “Little Guys.” A couple of ways he says little guys can step up is to “make a plan” and “find a champion.”

I have often worked for one of the little guys. We had lots of suggestions from various “important” people with big ideas, but often we lacked a coherent plan. This usually meant we started a project and then restarted after we discovered it wasn’t working well. The only time those big ideas really came to fruition was when a passionate, driven person, our champion, was found. Then the project grew legs of its own.

One of the things Fishhook does is help you maximize your strengths. We try to find strategies that will help the little guys accomplish the same things the big guys do. Sometimes it is just not possible with available resources. But, often you may find God has just the right champion waiting for the opportunity to do something big. Listen to God and let Him lead.

I enjoyed the way Kevin closes the chapter. With two small kids, VeggieTales are popular in my household:

The VeggieTales version of David and Goliath: “He’s big! But God’s bigger! … With his help little guys can do big things too!”
