We all face leadership challenges and transitions in our lives. We pray that you will be encouraged through our open sharing about this season of transition at Fishhook. It’s challenging, yet we’re trusting God and eager for the future.

Fifteen years ago, Evan McBroom started Fishhook and began growing our team. We are so grateful. In the past few years, Evan has encouraged me along with other leaders to develop the team and run the agency. As Evan has empowered us to lead, he has felt more and more restless. This led to him taking a sabbatical in 2017. As he returned in the fall of 2017, our team - with Evan - felt a renewed vision from God to pursue doing even more work with churches and ministries throughout the country. To support this vision, Evan and his wife, Debbie, moved to Nashville, Tennessee, earlier this year.

Now:
Today, our mission and work to serve churches and ministries all throughout the country continues. In 2018 alone, Fishhook has worked with churches in more than 20 states. We continue to be so grateful! However, Evan has continued to feel restless at Fishhook. It has been a challenging time for him and our leadership team. True to who we are, we have asked hard questions, shared, prayed, cried and laughed together. And we trust God is at work. Evan believes that God is calling him to pursue something new, and our team is supportive. This month, Evan will step away from daily work and operations with our team. It’s unclear what is ahead for him, but he and we are hopeful. The relationship between Fishhook leaders, our full team and Evan will continue as he will be an advisor, cheerleader and ambassador for Fishhook. For more about Evan’s journey and what he is feeling during this season, you can read more here.

Next:
Fishhook is growing because of God’s faithfulness and direction. We are continuing down the path the Lord called us to 15 years ago. Our leadership team (made up of Shayla Kenworthy, Aimee Cottle and me) - along with our full Fishhook team - are steadfast and eager to carry out our mission to serve churches and ministries all throughout the country.

Our prayer:
We all face leadership challenges and transitions in our lives. We pray that you will be encouraged through our open sharing about this season of transition at Fishhook. It’s challenging, yet we’re trusting God and eager for the future.

A key verse for us during this time is Proverbs 16:9: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” We pray that God will be honored as He establishes our steps. Through His direction, our aim is to support more churches and ministries in 2019 and beyond.

Thank you for your prayers and support of our team. We’re praying for your church and ministry as well!

Best,

Leah Norton
Managing Partner
