Reflections on The Table: Easter Planning Edition

After taking a break for several years, last week we brought back The Table! It was wonderful to gather in person and online with church leaders and communicators to share ideas, learn from one another and build meaningful connections.

We dove into Easter communications planning, focusing on building a strong, mission-based foundation and sustainable and effective tactics. Our goal was to help attendees feel confident and inspired to experience the fullness and beauty of Easter.

Our team was so excited to rally together to bring back The Table! From hosting and teaching to coordinating catering to jumping in with A/V support, we loved getting to encourage and equip church leaders both virtually and in person. (Thanks so much, team! We're grateful for the way you each showed up to bring this to life.)

Our mission at Fishhook is to energize and support churches to communicate, engage with and reach people for Christ. We strive to delight every church with unexpected creativity, energy and value. And we're so thankful The Table has resurfaced so we can continue bringing this mission to life with each church God connects us with.

Ready for a few takeaways? Here are some of our team's top moments:

PRACTICAL IDEA SHARING

“I loved that so much of the conversation was focused on building a culture in our churches of being in relationship with others. Then, out of a genuine relationship of caring for someone else, someone would look for genuine ways to invite them to learn more about your church/faith and the Easter season.”

“I loved the response of one guest who was talking about invite cards being about the relationship more than the card itself.”

“Aimee’s tutorial about using an AI prompt to get a rough communications timeline for Easter was so informative. We learned that AI is always a good starting point for ideas. Then a church's team can fill in the ministry, culture and heart to make it complete.”

COMMUNITY ENCOURAGEMENT

“It's great to bring people together (in person and online). We need each other! This is true in our work and definitely with our churches/communities too.”

“We really are better together. Sharing ideas, encouragement, creativity and support as a body of believers was wonderful to see. Virtually or in a room, we all have a seat at the table. It was honoring to God and encouraging to me to see church communities engage like that!”

COMING ALONGSIDE AND SUPPORTING ONE OTHER

“People really seemed to be engaged online. For some, it was going to be their first Easter in a communications position so it was exciting to see them become better equipped. Online, several people’s sharing was a good addition to the digital crowd.”

“At my table, I really loved seeing how a small church was learning from a big church … and vice versa! No matter their size, they still shared their experiences and plans together and encouraged one another.”

Last week, we got to see a variety of individuals with a variety of job titles from a variety of churches unite. A commonality for all those in attendance was the vision to make Easter Sunday incredible for their church so that the gospel message could provide salvation and hope to others.

Even with the various backgrounds and church sizes, at The Table, we all had a shared purpose and vision – make Jesus and His resurrection known this Easter season!
