We're sharing some of our personal and team goals for the new year. And what about you?

Goals are great! And while I (and we at Fishhook) don't want to be legalistic about achievement, we do believe that goals can inspire and motivate. We're kicking off 2013 by sharing some of our personal and team goals (a.k.a. resolutions) for the new year. By sharing with you, we hope you'll feel encouraged, and you may even want to help keep us accountable as the year goes by!

What is a personal goal/resolution you have for yourself in 2013?

Lindsay: To travel to someplace new in the world. That's my goal every year!

Evan: I've got to keep running and keep fit. So much other good flows from this. I have my sights peaking toward a full marathon in 2014 - so I need to keep the focus on fitness.

Leah: I want more organization in our home this year. My goal is to do one thing each day (it may be a very small thing on busy days) that helps us be more organized in every room, closet, cabinet and even in the garage.

Shawn: Stay focused on what is important in our lives right now: God, family and growing our family by one.

Ben: Allow myself to see the wonder in life. We all have moments when life feels simply repetitive, boring or mundane. I want to be reminded this year of the beauty and wonder that surrounds me, even in simple things. I want to let down my guard, take chances and make room to be surprised.

Megan: Cook more! It's hard to make time for this when I'm working, but it's always rewarding when I do. I want to fill up my cooking knowledge and recipe box.

What is a work-related or Fishhook team goal you have for yourself or us in 2013?

Lindsay: To grow and expand in ways I wouldn't normally go!

Evan: Fishhook celebrates 10 years in 2013. That's big, not because of what we've done, but because of what God has done. WOW! There will be more to commuinicate and celebrate on this later, but as part of this year, I may take a sabbatical. Not sure. Praying. Pondering. (And, I'm going to commit to single spacing after periods.)

Leah: To open each day in God's word and prayer. (Even if it's just for five minutes as I blow dry my hair or as I drive to work! This is the reality of some of our hectic mornings at the Norton household!) It's amazing what a difference this makes in my work. I'm more relational with others, more creative and more productive.

Shawn: To try to be more comfortable in the things I am not so comfortable doing.

Ben: I've noticed a trend recently in some companies I like that are making an intentional space for their staffs to be creative, spontaneous or simply try out some new ideas. While thinking outside of the box is kind of intimidating to me, I think this could be a great area of growth for Fishhook. But first we've got to think of a cool, hipster name like Factory WeekSpeak EasyWe Are City, or Powder Keg.

Megan: To get back into drawing again. I think the more I draw, the more inspired I am in my design work. I need to assign time each week to do it.
