There were some exciting updates coming out of this year’s Rock RMS conference. We’ve got some highlights to share with you!

Did you get a chance to check out this year’s keynote the latest features as well as upcoming developments to look forward to? If you didn’t or just need a reminder, we’ve got a breakdown of all the news below!

Rock Core

Version 15 update was released in May and features …

  • Streamlined sign up processes based on available opportunities and needs
  • Person profile reminders and types
  • Password-less login and different user authentication options

Version 16 is in development …

  • Cloud based content library allows Rock churches to share written content amongst each other
  • Upload to the cloud to make it accessible to others
    • Prebuilt categories available to place content under and use common language
    • Over 900 articles available upon release
    • Starting with text-based articles but will look to expand to other forms of media as well
  • Upgraded performance and efficiency
  • Observability allows for data tracking on page and block load speeds
  • Rock V16 is set to release in August

Version V17 is on the way, too!

  • The email wizard will have drag and drop template options, with less coding required
  • Customizable rows/components can use preset and custom templates
  • Name pronunciations added to person profiles, with text and audio options available
  • Ability to use AI capabilities to help with prompts for users, automated visitor chats, and moderation to filter content
  • AI can help segment submitted user content (like prayer requests) based on voice and language, it can also remove specific names and add grammatical edits or formatting
  • Automated completions allow AI assistance with Rock content and processes

NextGen Rock

  • Will leverage the power of your hardware/computer and alleviate some of the stress on your Rock servers
  • New filtering and grid set up allows for more customizable sorting and filtering of person profile data
  • Filter grids by status, time stamps, and other data based queries and qualifiers
  • Upgrading to API V2
  • There will be a new UI update coming as a part of NextGen
Rock Mobile
  • Staff can utilize the mobile app to search for people and add notes or updates to their person profile
  • Easier scheduling for groups and serving opportunities and can promote where needs are most felt
  • Deep linking allows web links to open within the mobile app experience or in web browser if they don’t have your mobile app
  • Version 5 of Rock Mobile will have… 
    • SMS messaging for staff within the app and snippets use lava code to allow preset responses and prompts for quick replies
    • Auth0 allows mobile users to use authentication methods like within other apps 
    • Real time interactive experiences can feature interactive polls, short answer, or an embedded web pages in service or events
    • You can create email and SMS communications within the app
    • Set reminders to personally engage with people and make connections where they can have the most impact
    • Your logged in person profile will appear in the app just like the Rock web platform
Apple TV App V2
  • Feature countdowns to live experiences
  • Prayer requests and prompts can appear on screen
  • Toolbox allows you to expand and create beyond current “out of the box” builds
