Ben: For me, the overarching theme was to TAKE ACTION! Don't complain about a problem if you're not willing to be part of the solution. Don't sit on your hands waiting for the "right" moment or the "right idea" … do something.
Megan: God didn't call us to survive the world, He called us to change it. If the size of your ministry isn't intimidating to you, it's probably insulting to God. Be bold in your leadership, and challenge yourself.
Getting feedback from others isn't a criticism, it's a gift. Wise people listen to feedback, acknowledge the truth, adjust, and are wiser for it.
Adam: My leadership, job, role, relationships, wants, needs, desires and conversations are not about me. My entire life is about God. So, as I lead, it better be all about Him.
Jen: So often when I'm faced with what seems like a mountain, I can become paralyzed. I do nothing. A simple challenge given was to “just do something!”
Lindsay: Failure doesn't mean game over, it means try again with experience.
People need to be reminded more than they need to be instructed.
Leah: Leaders look problems in the eye, call them out, and address them.
Make reality your friend – and then build off of it. Take small steps with what you have at hand. Small steps and wins are how you solve the big problems and issues.
Evan: Leaders call out a bad attitude the minute they see it, and give it a 30-day conversation.
Stop worrying about what you're doing and worry about what you're going to do NEXT.
I love the story of Elisha digging ditches in anticipation of God sending the rain. As the leader of Fishhook, this has been a part of our story, and, we are digging ditches even today.
