This season, we’re focusing on the significance of Easter and the importance of what this time of year means!
- Without Easter, we are a wandering people with no hope.
- With Easter, we have all that we need for reconciliation with Christ and eternity with Him.
Because of Jesus’ life, death, burial and resurrection – we can have salvation, forgiveness of sins, an eternal relationship with Christ and an abundance of hope!
“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:17)
This is the good news of Jesus. And this is the good news of the Easter season!
Stewarding the Next 40 Days
The next forty days are important. We have the best gift of Jesus. We know the hope that He can provide and we understand the value of sharing about Jesus with those who are lost and hurting.
Your church can be a catalyst for life change – and eternal life! – for someone. The burden can feel heavy. But, we don’t have to go at it alone! This Easter season, may you find your strength in Christ and may you keep your focus on the importance of His saving grace. May you feel equipped and encouraged as you work, as you show up for family and friends, as you manage your home, as you personally continue keeping in step with the Spirit, as you abide with Christ.
40-Day Devotional Series
We know during this time of year, you’re sprinting. Each ministry leader gives it their all, knowing the value of the gospel message and the significance it has on others. So for the Lenten/Easter season, our team has created a 40-day devotional series called The Significance of _____: Spiritual Strength for Your Easter Season.
We hope that this series is a breath of fresh air for you. Use this encouragement as a landing zone, a quiet place to continue growing your relationship with God while you faithfully serve your church, too.
Faith and Action
We encourage you to pair faith and action together to remember the purpose and significance of this season and to abide with the Lord and the strength of His might.
The combination of faith and action allows you to surrender and trust that the Lord is sovereign over all. He is the one who ultimately saves. God is God … and we are not.
God is perfect, God is merciful, God is kind. God is good at being God! We choose to have faith that He alone redeems. Because of this, we can take the pressure off! We don’t have to be burdened by perfect marketing plans or communication strategies. We don’t have to shoulder the responsibility of saving people with the good news of Jesus.
We take action on what the Lord has asked us to do! We use our skills, passions, gifts and talents to make His name more famous and to make heaven more crowded. Through it all, we trust that the Lord will do what He does best, which is giving second chances and extending His mercy, grace and free gift and power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Let’s remember the purpose and significance of this season by reading Scripture and applying those Scripture truths to our lives. Let’s abide with the Lord by spending time in prayer, surrendering control, confessing sin and submitting to His plans for our lives.
What a blessing we have this Easter to fix our eyes on Jesus, cling to the hope of the Gospel, share this good news with others and pull spiritual strength from Christ and His Word.
We’ll be kicking off our Lenten Season series, The Significance of _____ : Spiritual Strength for Your Easter Season, on Wednesday, February 18. You can join us on the Fishhook blog and on our social media accounts as we share devotionals and daily reflections to support your spiritual strength this Easter season.
