Summertime reflections at Fishhook: good work, hard things, growth, joy and a little more margin.
Summer at Fishhook was full. (You know how it goes!)
We thought we’d share a little of what we did this summer in hopes it encourages you to give thanks for your summer, too, and think about what you want to carry into the fall.
There was great work and challenges.
This summer, we saw some exciting things happen with the churches we serve. We worked hard, solved problems, created new things and saw ministry impact.
A few of our churches walked through some significant transitions this summer, and those things impacted us. We're grateful when we can support churches to communicate through the highs and lows of ministry - and we're always praying with every church and ministry.
We focused on joy and margin.
This summer, the Fishhook team read Philippians together and talked about what it means to have joy in Christ, even when life isn’t easy. His joy is where we start - and what we cling to - no matter what.

We also tried something new: a 36-hour work week (instead of 40 hours) in June and July. We focused on our work, while also creating a little more margin each week for our families, serving others and a little more rest.
We grew together.
We also spent the summer prayerfully working through our mission, vision and values as a team - asking how we can keep growing and serving the Church through our work with excellence and bringing glory to Jesus.

It’s been a good summer. Not perfect. Not easy. But full of great work, real conversations, laughter, rest, challenges, celebrations and caring for one another.
That’s what we’re aiming for at Fishhook: to abide with Jesus, care for each other and others, and eagerly keep learning and doing the work He’s giving us.
We're considering these questions.
As we head into the fall, here are questions we're considering and think they may be helpful to you and your team too:
-
How are you abiding in the Lord each day?
-
Are you carrying the wholeness (the celebrations and challenges) of life with others?
-
What are you learning with others?
-
What new things are you trying?
-
Where might you create more margin?

We’re grateful for the summer - and we’re praying for this fall!
Do you need more support this fall? Our team would love to connect with you and help you process your team's situation and possible next steps to grow in your ministry, communications and marketing efforts.
