We’ve been plugging away answering the questions you submitted on the "What DOES the fox say?" blog. Now I am going to tackle a very important question that I believe many of you face each day.

Dave Shrein asked us, “How do you advocate for more human resources in a communications department?”

And though bold, the answer is in fact an easy one. Click here and take a listen to Evan’s bold statement made at the National Association of Church Business Administrators Conference back in 2012.

Pastors were not called into ministry to design brochures for the next student pool party or all-church picnic. They were called into vocational ministry to help reach people for Jesus. They were called into ministry to invest their time into people’s lives to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Investing in your church staff with someone who has the gift of communications lets the pastor BE the pastor. And because of this, you will notice changes happening in your congregation and community.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul says the church is one body with many parts. If a church is hesitant to add resources to the communications staff, it may be asking a hand to do the work of a foot.
