Read Leah's reflections on 20 years of Fishhook Leadership

Reflecting on 20 years at Fishhook, Leah shares her journey of faith, leadership and dedication to serving churches with impactful communications and digital strategies.

More than 20 years ago I sat down with our founder, Evan McBroom. God connected us!

Evan's big ideas, big heart and vision along with my excitement, experience and desire to help him build something were a God-ordained fit. We set out to serve churches and ministries together and continue building the team and communications work.

There have been unbelievable Fishhook leaders and team members all along the way (for more than 22 years now). And we get to work with the best churches with pastors and leaders who trust us with such important communications strategy, branding and digital work.

This mission, this team and this work has impacted my life, marriage and family every single day. We say that working at Fishhook is a calling and a lifestyle! And I'm so very grateful.

As a result of the past 20 years ...

  • I walk more closely with Jesus. I've had so many opportunities to trust him more, look to the Spirit, and His provision and guidance for Fishhook.
  • I love the local church - His bride - even more. It's a gift to serve pastors and leaders. To pray with them. To strategize and partner with them. And to help them communicate and engage with more people to help others know the love, grace and hope of Christ.
  • I'm blessed through every Fishhook leader, team member and all the friends/partners who I (we) are connected with.

As I celebrate these 20 years in my work at Fishhook, I'm praying and asking these questions. I hope they are helpful to you as well for your journey and calling.

Lord,
Will you fill my heart with worship and gratitude? (Lord, you are so worthy, and I have so much to be grateful for.)

Lord,
Who can I walk with to encourage and support? (So many have encouraged me. I want to serve others like Jesus.)

Lord,
Who can I celebrate and be generous with today? (We need more celebrating and generous words and actions in our world and with each other!)

Lord,
How can I walk even closer with you today and for the season ahead? (I pray to walk in the Spirit and do anything He asks of me.)
