We honor Amanda from First Methodist Mansfield as an Honorary Fishhooker!

Here at Fishhook, we love to call out and celebrate the good we see in others! Today, we’re announcing our newest Honorary Fishhooker of the Every Other Month award recipient. 

This month’s award goes to … Amanda Hardeman!

What is Amanda's connection with Fishhook?

As the Director of Communications at First Methodist Mansfield, Amanda served as the main contact for a recent Brand Experience Guide project and also our ongoing retainer. She brings so much energy and heart to everything she's part of. And for someone who is leading a complex ministry, she is so calm! (How do you do that, Amanda?!)

Amanda is the kind of person that makes you feel right at home the minute you meet. She is warm and energetic. Combine that with her steady, can-do spirit and southern drawl and forget about it!

Which of Fishhook's core values does she most reflect?

Skilz and W.O.O. all day! Amanda is so strategic. She asks great questions and is constantly connecting dots and trying to level up. But she is a people person above anything else.

She is the first one to crack a joke and make a personal connection. But she also loves to get down to business. (What a combo!) And she doesn't let things rattle her which I love. She stays steady even in the midst of a lot of spinning plates.

If someone had half an hour to spend with them, what would you recommend they pick Amanda's brain about?

Ask her how she's able to build trust with her team. One of the first things I noticed about Amanda was the deep relationships she had clearly fostered with every person of their staff.

She is honest but in a way that feels both confident and humble. Her ability to be authentic has built true trust, especially with other leaders. 

What has Amanda's impact been on the Church at large?

You can't see all the ministry happening through First Methodist Mansfield and not see Amanda's impact. She continues to show up. She shows up for her church, for her coworkers, for her family and for her community. She continues to say yes to the hard and holy work of ministry because she cares so deeply.
