This Christmas, don’t lose sight of the most important message ... sharing the good news of Jesus.

I'll cut to the chase! This Christmas, the most important message we can share is the Gospel message. Jesus is the true grace, hope and joy we all long for.

As church leaders and communicators, it’s easy to get caught up in all the details of Christmas with special events, service planning, graphics, social posts, volunteer needs and even community outreach details. These are all good things!

But what if, even in the midst of all that planning and promotion, we are even more focused on equipping our ministry and our people to share the pure Gospel message?

You know it ...

  • That God loves you and wants to be in relationship with you.
  • But all of us sin, and this sin separates us from God.
  • Yet Jesus made a way! God sent His Son to die for our sins and conquer death. He is alive, and through Him, we can be reconciled to God today and forever.
  • Each of us can choose Jesus as our Savior to experience God’s love and purpose for our lives.

Let’s pause and ask:

  1. Do our church’s communications, website, social media and worship services share the Gospel clearly and consistently?
  2. Are we helping our congregation be equipped and encouraged to genuinely and relationally share the Gospel with others?
  3. Are we pointing people to next steps to grow in a relationship with Jesus?

As you plan, write, design, post and prepare for the season ahead, I pray that the Gospel - this beautiful story of love, rescue and redemption - will shine through everything your church communicates. May it be front and center this Christmas and into the new year, through our churches and our personal interactions with others.
