The Table has made its official return ... and this is just the beginning.

Last Wednesday, The Table made its official return and it was a great day!

After a long (too long!) break, we gathered 30+ people in person and welcomed another 15+ online to relaunch The Table. This event is a space for church communicators to connect, learn and encourage one another. And we picked up right where we left off!

What Happened at The Table: Easter Planning Edition?

We kicked things off with Chick-fil-A (because what church leader gathering is complete without it?). But we didn’t stop there, because what’s The Table without a little fun?

  • Mini Jesus Hunt: We sent our in-person friends searching for miniature Jesus figurines around the room, while our online friends scoured our website for hidden Jesus'. (They are still hidden across our site if you want to try to find all fie of them.) If you can’t have a little fun while planning for Easter, you’re missing out!
  • Encouragement from Traver Butcher: Our community manager at the Nexus Impact Center, Traver, shared some inspiring words about experiencing the fullness and beauty of the Easter season by approaching it from a place of rest.
  • Easter Communications Planning: The heart of the day was helping churches strategically and sustainably plan for Easter. Account Director Aimee Cottle led the group through content designed to equip leaders with fresh ideas, practical strategies and encouragement as they prepare for Easter/Lenten season.

Key Takeaways

Throughout the day, we focused on three essential aspects of Easter communications:

  1. Start With Why: Before diving into plans, we encouraged churches to define success for Easter. Who are they trying to reach? What do they want people to hear and believe? How does this season align with their church’s mission?
  2. Learn From the Past: Through table discussions, we reflected on past Easter experiences. What worked? What resonated? What should be replicated or done differently this year?
  3. Create a Sustainable Plan: We explored ways to balance value adding and invitation for our guests and also using tools at our disposal to make it a little easier and sustainable.

Why This Matters

For more than 20 years, The Table has existed to bring church communicators together. It’s a place to show up, be real about challenges and find people who get it.

This gathering reminded us why we missed it so much. The energy, the collaboration, the laughter and the “aha!” moments ... it was all there. And this is just the beginning.

If you missed this one, don’t worry! The Table is officially back and we can’t wait to do it again soon. Stay tuned for details on our next gathering that we're hosting on Wednesday, June 18!

Until then, know that we are praying for your Easter planning. We’re cheering you on!
